Shwmae! I'm Emma-Jane
I’m the maker behind Carynwen, a small Welsh business helping people to mark the moments that matter. I’m also a Mami to two girls and live with my husband and girls in beautiful Carmarthenshire.
How it began
Carynwen started in 2008, when I couldn’t find anyone to make Welsh wedding invitations to the design I had in mind. So I made them myself, for my own wedding. What began as a crafting hobby grew into a business, first as Cardiau Calon and then, in 2020, as Carynwen.

The name and the logo
Everything about Carynwen comes back to my girls.
- The name is a combination of my daughters’ names.
- The heart in the logo is made from their fingerprints.
- The daffodil is for Wales, the heart of everything I make.
- The little ladybird is there for luck.
- Even the font is Celtic in style!
It’s a small detail, but it means family is part of every card, invitation and gift that leaves my craft shed.

What I make
From my little craft shed, I create bilingual Welsh wedding stationery, personalised cards for life’s milestones (birthdays, Christmas, and the harder moments too) and hand-decorated gifts. Everything is made in Welsh, English or both, with as much personal touch as you’d like.
Why I do it
Everything I make comes back to family. Cards are how we mark the moments that matter, from birthdays and weddings to Christmas, and the harder moments too. I like to think each one is made with cariad.
Diolch am alw heibio. Thank you for stopping by.
